Investment Property in Fiji

Whenever there is a new discussion about an emerging market, general practice is to look at any established or semi-established markets in the same region with similar characteristics as a guide to how the new market will emerge. So when I say New Zealand is the best market for a comparison with the islands of Fiji, shrewd investors will immediately get an idea of Fiji’s property investment potential and everyone will have an idea of what the country is like as a place likely to attract increasing tourism year on year.

Fiji is humid with a kind of cool heat perfect for a holiday in the sun with the family. From being known as a nation of fierce warriors, pirates and cannibals worthy of being given a wide birth by mariners, the Fiji isles are now attracting thousands of people at a time, in search of its world-class beaches, amazing scuba diving around the coral reefs, and the many tropical fish and other water-born wildlife than can be seen in such turquoise warm waters – most notably swimming with dolphins in the wild.

Fiji consists of 333 islands, the so called mainland is Viti Levu island, home of Fiji’s international airports Nadi and Nausori – there are 16 other airports between the other islands. Major companies like Qantas, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways operate regular flights into Fiji, and a flight from London is 22 hours.

British Airways flights to Nadi airport are among the cheapest at £69.00 most of the year from Aberdeen, and £68.00 from London in October-November. Many other major flight operators, including British Airways fly to Nadi from most British airports, including Glasgow and Cardiff.
