Developer Buy-back Option Investors seeking a guaranteed return on the investment have the choice to include a developer buy-back option when purchasing a plot. The buy back option provides the developer the opportunity to repurchase a plot at any time during the 5 year payment period. By exercising the buy-back option, the developer agrees to purchase the land at 20% above the purchase price. This equates to a total re-purchase value of £72,000.00. In exchange for the buy-back option the developer agrees to pay the investor a guaranteed return of 20% over 5 years (4% per annum). This equates to a total 5 year yield of £12,000.00.
