Prominent and important buildings located in the borough include, the Bundestag, the Reichstag, the German Chancellory and amazingly the Residence of the German President: Schloss Bellevue. The Carillon, a massive tower like monument, which is actually a manually played musical instrument comprising of 68 bells is also located in Tiergarten.
The fall of the Berlin wall and the merger of Tiergarten, Wedding and Mitte, changed Moabit from a West Berlin border-area to a flourishing centralised borough in a vibrant reunified Berlin. Because of this many new prominent buildings are being built in Moabit including the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
