Property and Real Estate in Quebec - Canada
There are so many good things about Quebec, both in real estate and in general that it‘s hard to know where to start.
Canada is world renowned for its wildlife, sweeping landscapes, breathtaking hills and mountain ranges, and accompanying and equally awe inspiring valleys. And in a country famed for its wilderness, Quebec is like a smaller version of its host country, not least because it is home to three of the world's most beautiful locations, two of which are among the world's best known attractions: first the Laurentian Mountains, which are home to the second, Mt Tremblant and last but not least, Montreal.
Those three locations alone make Quebec a must visit location for everybody. To describe Montreal in a few words you could say a cross between Holywood and Las Vegas with a twist, but it is also known as the Paris of North America. The host of Canada's Formula 1 grand-prix, Montreal has posh mansions, a casino, exclusive spa's and hotels, and its fair share of rich inhabitants.
Property in Quebec
As for property in Quebec, it has all the strengths and advantages of the Canadian market, but its beauty and world renowned locations and breathtaking expanses attract millions of tourists from Canada, the U.S. and all around the world. Quebec capital appreciation will easily reach the 20% mark, and might reach thirty in the coming years, capital gains tax works out at a very reasonable 12.5% and a conservative estimate for rental yields in popular tourist areas is 8-10%.
Quebec's two massively popular locations have one downside, their popularity over the years has made accommodation pricey. That's where the Rouge River Resort beats them hands down, it is also in the Laurentian mountains, has more than its fair share of activities on offer, and is close to Montreal and Mt Tremblant, in fact it is between the two.
The Rouge River resort is named after the trout filled river that runs down the Laurentian mountainside through it. David Stanley Redfern Ltd are over the moon to have some of the lowest priced property in Quebec, spanning over 500 acres between two developments on the resort.
1 acre plots on the Rouge River development are just £18,500. The same size of plot on the nearby Land of Paradise development (also on the Rouge River resort) is £37,500 -- because the latter's plots are all waterfront and benefit from closer proximity to the multi-billion dollar property development proposed for the resort. 0-6 bedroom pre-designed chalets are ready to be built on the plots whenever the buyer is ready, building costs are around £80 per square foot, and the properties will be turnkey when built, septic tank, water, T.V. and optionally telephone and satellite will be connected.
Because of the low prices, the major development and investment in the resort, prices are expected to double, and have the potential to even triple or quadruple in the coming years.
Visitors can fish or enjoy water-sports on the 100 miles of river, bicycle on the 100-mile bicycle trail weaving through the forest along the river banks, and of course enjoy picnics in the beautiful outdoors.
In winter some of those activities become impossible because of the heavy snow Quebec, especially the Laurentian Mountains see in winter, but fear not, fisherman can ice-fish, and the river-bank sports are replaced by skiing and skiidoing, as well as the other things young family members can do in the snow: snowball fights, sledding and building snowmen.
Ski-ing in Quebec
Ski enthusiasts and adventure holiday lovers will possibly have heard of the Laurentian Mountains and their famous inhabitant Mt Tremblant. Mt Tremblant is one of the best Alpine ski resorts in the world, and has all facilities necessary for a fantastic skiing holiday: a skiing instructor, ski-shop, and extensive attendants to ensure your skiing experience runs as smoothly as can be.
Mt Tremblant has long been a popular tourist destination for Canadians and people all over the world, and not only for skiing, views of the breathtaking Mt Tremblant are a must see, the summer is hot, and while it is classed as a village or small town, its place as one of the world's top tourism destinations means every activity you can think of you can do without going too far.
